Jiang Jiemin, head of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council and deputy secretary of the SASAC committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), was placed on file for investigation and prosecution for taking bribes, announced the Supreme People's Procuratorate on Monday.

Jiang was removed from office on suspicion of serious disciplinary violations in September 2013 and was expelled from the CPC in July.

The CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) found that Jiang was guilty of taking advantage of his post to seek benefits for others, extorting and receiving a huge amount of bribes.

The CCDI said Jiang's conduct has seriously violated the Party discipline and the bribery-taking problem has allegedly infringed laws.
